The last time Hope and I shot together nothing short of magical. We shot back in October for her series ELEMENTS. It was probably the last warm day we had in October, which I was thankful for, as I was portraying the water element. My favorite kind of concepts are ones that I get to be in nature. I believe that series was one of my personal favorites... it even was featured on Vogue Italia web (eek!)
Anytime I get to go to "The Big Apple" for work... I try and do as much as I can in the city while I'm there. I've been doing a lot of look book shoots for some really awesome brands lately. Wednesday was nothing short of what I consider a perfect day in the city. The sun was shining, (finally) the iced coffee was flowing, and there was no shortage of beautiful people. That's one thing I've noticed about New York...so many fashion forward thinking, beautiful and talented individual roam the streets; looking for their next big break. I love it.
In the studio with Natural Blue; a mens clothing line, specializing in unique patterned button ups and jackets. Yes, you heard me right... menswear. I had a lot of fun with the male models on set. The designer wanted a very "Urban Outfitters/I just woke up in Bushwick in my bf's clothes" kind of vibe. Naturally, I loved it as I normally shop for my flannels and button ups in the men's section. All of their designs are so unique and so comfortable...I definitely will be stocking up on some oversized button ups for fall. Take a peep below for some behind the scenes of the day.
Happy Friday, stay dreamin'
I've said it once, I'll say it again... once a bride, always a bride ;) Although it may jinx me...I really enjoy getting dolled up and having a fake wedding. I mean, what gal doesn't like beautiful dresses, jewels and flowers?
I had the chance to work with a great group of creatives on a fun bridal set a couple weeks ago.. Homespun Lancaster is an event planning collective (of some really rad people) that devotes their creativity and time to making your event dreams come true! Thinking local, and thinking outside of the box... I will definitely be calling on them when it's my time to walk down the isle, for real!
The day was filled with beauty, sunshine, charcuterie boards and bubbly. Here's a few BTS photos from the day..
Shout out to Dana at Bristle & Prim and Maggie King for making me feel and look like a goddess!
Wednesday..I got to be (another) bride! I tend to get casted as a "bride" on a pretty regular basis. Sometimes I think I am jinxed for life and will never get married because of all the bridal jobs I have done ;) But, never the less, I enjoy these stylized shoots such as the one I was apart of on Wednesday. I worked with a great Philadelphia team, and my "groom" is from NYC. We adventured out to Ridley Creek in Media PA, and have my dream wedding set up. Beautiful design tea table, dessert table, and tarot card reading table..put together by the amazing design team Papertini! Shot by Asya, a Philly based wedding photographer, really put together such a amazing set that I adored from the amazing dress from Lovely Bride, to the vintage couch and gem table combo, I felt like I was in a dream wedding. Take a look at some BTS shots below :)
Have you ever used a product that you loved so much you just want to share it with anyone you meet? Well, that's how I feel about Josie Maran Cosmetics. Known for being the first brand to bring argan oil to the states, all of Josie's products are argan oil based, leaving your skin feeling supple and glowing! I will admit when I first used the argan oil, I was afraid to use an oil to treat my skin, thinking it would leave me feeling like a greaseball..but after I got into the skin care routine of argan oil when I wake, Josie's Milk after the shower, followed by her tinted mosturizer (with SPF!), I don't think I can go back to any other skin care routine. My skin has never felt or looked better; I truly do GLOW!
Working with the Josie Maran team at QVC has been such a blessing. They truly care about us ladies…not just as, "models," but like family which is rare to find in this industry. We educate people on the great benefits of her products, all while having some fun! Check out her products on QVC, online, or in Sephora!
Yesterday morning, I set out (early), for New York City to shoot with Tara Marek of Elizabeth Gillett Designs. The make the most beautiful, comfortable and versatile line of boho meets classy swimwear cover ups and scarves. I fell in love with every piece I put on. All the graphics/designs on each piece are hand created and eco friendly which I am in love with! We had a very fun, yet relaxed day shooting in the show room. Such a great team of creatives there; I can't wait to see the finished product! You can find their line in a number of stores such as Fred Segal and in the pages of InStyle Magazine. Visit their website to see and learn more!
Although the rain this week has put a damper on some outdoor shooting, Philadelphia based photographer Mike Ryan of Brick x Birch brought the heat with our shoot on Tuesday! I have been a fan of his work for quite some time, and anytime we get together to create, we always have fun testing out different concepts. Bradley, the designer of Couture Mask was gracious enough to let us style and shoot a couple of his masks, which are beyond incredible.
While we were in the studio, I couldn't help but notice some fresh tees hanging on Mike's clothing rack designed by Producer/DJ Sky Society. Organic cotton tops mixed with eye catching designs, you can really wear them with anything! These limited edition screen printed tees will be available on Sky Society's website mid June or at the next show you may catch this jet setter at. Chicago, Philadelphia, California, or Lancaster..you'll want to join the movement with this rad line.
The creative juices were indeed flowing, and although I can't share too much with this shoot...I can promise you the finished product is worth the wait :)
On Monday, the weather man called for a 70% chance of rain. Do you think that scared our team of creatives? NO! Not when Brian Donnelly is behind the lens. Determined to get some outdoor shots for Sophie Stargazer Boutique, we all set out on a mission. Kristin Snyder, the boutique owner is always so laid back and sweet, it made it easy to test out all areas of the city to dodge the rain when needed. I always enjoy working with her and getting to wear all the beautiful lines she carries because a lot of them have such great stories to go along with them. Whether it be to provide jobs and prevent gang violence in Guatemala(The Root Collective), or a shirt sale=a tree being planted (Amour Vert), I really love how she gives back any way she can. Fashion for a cause...count me in!! Here are a few BTS shots from our semi rainy adventures with Brian Donnelly Studios. Excuse the blurry photos.. I'm not the professional here ;)
Kristin of Sophie Stargazer, on set styling at the Lancaster Train Station!
Brian Donnelly of BDS and Tashina Roberson of Studio 841 always keep things on set entertaining, especially when we are shooting at Lancaster Dip Co!
Miranda and Brian in (blurry) action!
That's a wrap! Rain and all...we had some fun, and Willow was a great help ;)
I set out a couple of days ago with Valerie Gernhauser, the mastermind behind Sapphire Events, and GK Photography to explore the grounds of Yale University to create a little magic. The combination of the beauty the campus itself has to offer, mixed with the wonderful weather (80% chance of rain, and not a drop of rain fell) and creative team, we had such a fun day! Both Valerie and GK are New Orleans based artists so it was really exciting to work with them and seeing how their creative eye is different from those on the east coast. Here are a few BTS shots we captured during our adventures!
In front of The Skull and Bones Society..I was so fascinated by the story behind this place!
I always love when I get the chance to work with local, like minded creators that have a love and passion for their work as much as I do. It inspires me and reminds me why I started working in this industry. Morning outdoor shoots are always my favorite. When there's a small breeze, diffused natural light and a great pair of ladies such as Katie and Kristen (Sophie Stargazer).. the day was nothing short of amazing. Here's a couple BTS shots from the pre fall look book shoot..more to come! Check out their work and fashion below!
